Pete began playing saxophone at the age of 12. Born and raised in Kansas City, he studied under the tutelage of Greg Briggs (of the Kansas City Symphony) and was also taken under the wing of Kansas City favorite tenor saxophonist Dewey Rucker and his band Simplexity. Pete graduated from the prestigious jazz school at the University of Northern Colorado in 1999 where he studied with internationally renowned players and teachers such as Roger Greenberg, Jon Davis and Gene Aitken. He began his recording career in 1999 with the release of "For Future Reference". He has been featured on nine subsequent recordings. Pete started his performance career around the Denver, Colorado area (where he continues to reside) after graduation and has toured all over the nation. He was the founding member of The Hardbop Workshop and Bump and played with Paquito Maz, Butterhead, and Bushtic. In the course of his career, he has shared the stage with jazz giants Herbie Hancock and Joshua Redman. He has also opened for Jazz is Dead (at Red Rocks), Vince Welnick, Robert Waters, Moby, Little Joe, and Johnny Fiasco. Pete has played with Steve Ellington, Dave Liebman, Willie Waldman, Rob Wasserman, Hope Clayburn and George Porter Jr (of The Funky Meters) just to name a few. He continues to play with Textiles, a group which was awarded the Best Of Westword in 2002. Pete also gigs with his trio and quartet and the newly formed Electric Sessions. He regularly performs and records with local music gurus Andrew Lindstrom, Doug Anderson, Ross Martin, Erik Deustch, Dave Watts, Tom Hoch, Ivy, Mike Brick, Doug Tapia, Brooke Mouland, John Albright, Tom Sublett and Kirwan Brown, among others.
